Privacy Policy
Effective November 5, 2026 · Applies to OrderTrail for iPhone and Mac
The short version
- Your email is read on your own device. It is never sent to us.
- We don't run servers, so we don't collect, store or sell any of your data.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Your orders sync between your devices only through your own iCloud account.
Who we are
OrderTrail is published by Barakah Digital LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the OrderTrail app.
Email access
To find your orders, OrderTrail connects directly from your device to your email provider (such as iCloud Mail, Gmail or Yahoo) over an encrypted connection, using an app-specific password that you create and enter. It opens your mailbox read-only and looks at order-related messages, such as order confirmations, shipping updates and cancellations, to pull out order details like store, order number, items, prices, tracking numbers and ship-to address.
This all happens on your device. Your emails, your email password and the order details are never sent to us. When you use the in-app Inbox or "View Email" features, the message is fetched from your provider to your device to show it to you.
If you choose "Not Junk" on a message, OrderTrail asks your email provider to move that message out of your Junk folder. That is the only change it ever makes to your mailbox, and only when you ask.
Passwords
App passwords are stored in Apple's Keychain on your device. If you use iCloud Keychain, Apple syncs them securely to your other Apple devices. We cannot see or access them.
Order data and iCloud sync
The orders, expenses and settings you see in the app are stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud, they also sync between your iPhone and Mac through your own private iCloud database, which is operated by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.
On-device intelligence
For stores without built-in rules, OrderTrail can use Apple Intelligence, which runs on your device, to read an order email. You can turn this off in Settings → On-Device AI.
Optional: Claude with your own API key
OrderTrail has an optional, off-by-default setting under Settings → Advanced that uses your own Anthropic API key. If you turn it on and confirm, order emails that the built-in rules can't fully read, including their text and addresses, are sent from your device directly to Anthropic's Claude API to extract the order details. That processing is governed by your agreement with Anthropic and Anthropic's Privacy Policy. It never passes through us, and you can turn it off at any time.
Notifications
Order alerts are local notifications created on your device. We don't use push notification servers.
Purchases
OrderTrail Pro subscriptions are sold and managed by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. Apple tells the app whether your subscription is active so it can unlock Pro features. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.
What we collect
Nothing. OrderTrail contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software, and we don't operate servers that receive your information. If you email us for support, we'll use your message and email address only to reply to you.
Deleting your data
- Remove an email account in the app's Accounts screen to delete its saved password and stop scanning it.
- Delete the app to remove its data from that device.
- To remove synced data from iCloud, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage on your iPhone, or System Settings → [your name] → iCloud on your Mac.
Children
OrderTrail is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
